Teen Who Nearly Killed Another Gets Six Years in Juvenile Facility

Geavony Ferreira stabbed Eric Mott-Laverra during a fight at the Hollywood Transit Center.

Geavony Ferreira was 16-years-old last February when he took part in a fight at the Hollywood Transit Center. He stabbed another teen in the chest and throat.

After pleading guilty to assault and unlawful use of a weapon, he was sentenced to spend the next nearly six years in a juvenile facility.

Ferreira, who has a criminal record dating back to when he was 12 and was expelled from an alternative high school for wearing colors, was on juvenile probation for theft at the time of the attack.

During the fight, Eric Mott-Laverria punched Ferreira's mom and younger sister, which led to Ferreira attacking him with brass knuckles and then stabbing him in the chest and throat.

Mott-Laverria, while badly injured, recovered.
