The weather is getting warmer, hockey and basketball playoffs are kicking into high gear and it’s probably tempting to stay home and relax this weekend. That’s fair if beer fests, video game designers and music set to pictures of space don’t excite you. Game Masters: The Exhibition
Portland, April 22-May 8
Showcasing work from over 30 game designers, this exhibit at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is drawing closer towards its closing date on May 8. Overview Effect
Portland, April 22
Portland composer and musician Tylor Neist has put together a theatrical and musical journey through the cosmos showing at Portland Center Stage’s Ellyn Bye Studio. The hour-long performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, where Neist’s musical score will combine with Hubble Telescope projections and historic Apollo footage. It will also feature a live orchestra, electronic soundscapes and spoken word. Hit the link for more information.

Latino Cultural Festival
Hillsboro, April 24
The annual Latino Cultural Festival is a very proud tradition for people of Hillsboro to celebrate the city’s diversity. Featuring Latino art, food, entertainment and more, the festival offers a chance to welcome and embrace Latino traditions. It is a free community event held Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. in the Downtown Hillsboro area. Hit the link for more information.

Gresham, April 23
Live music, fresh food, fine art; what could be better? This third annual tradition provides a vibrant marketplace held at Mt. Hood Community College from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday from now till September. Hit the link more information.
Shakespeare Festival: 400 Years in Shakespeare’s Kitchen
Lake Oswego, April 23
If you ever wondered what Shakespeare might have eaten for dinner as he wrote “Hamlet,” spend an hour Saturday at the Lake Oswego Public Library. Marylhurst University Assistant Professor of English Keri Sanburn Behre will discuss foods enjoyed, feared, and coveted by early modern English people at 1 p.m. Attendees will look at descriptions of food in literature, explore old beliefs about certain food items and discuss how women in this day used food to leverage power both inside the kitchen and out. Student poster projects will also be on display, and seventeenth-century snacks will be provided. Hit the link for more information.
