Three Busted After Pot Dispensary Robbery

Police stopped them blocks from the scene.

Three men are in jail, charged with robbing a marijuana dispensary in Southeast Portland on Wednesday night.

Portland Police say that officers from the Gang Enforcement Team stopped a car in North Portland for a traffic infraction. Three men jumped from the vehicle and ran.

Two men - 20-year-old Malik Stephens and 20-year-old Vontrell Mills - were arrested as they ran, say police, adding that 23-year-old Jiante Fascan Carter was arrested a short time later after a citizen called 911 to say there was a man hiding in a crawl space.

Police searched the car that the men had fled from and discovered what they say was cash, marijuana and other items linking them to the robbery if the Mount Hood Wellness Center Dispensary.

The robbery had happened about 15 minutes before the men were stopped.

A handgun was also found nearby along a wall outside of Jefferson High School by a community members.

Robbery detectives responded to the investigation and determined the men were the suspects in the robbery.

They will be arraigned on Friday in Multnomah County Court.
