Three Charged with Destroying Evidence in Apache Hightower Murder

Three people were booked Monday into the Columbia County Jail.

Three more people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a young mother from Portland. Shelly Edwards, Randall Schwirse, and James brewer are charged with hindering prosecution in the murder of 24-year-old Apache Hightower.

Hightower, who was considered by law enforcement to be a witness in a criminal proceeding, was found murdered in a rural part of Columbia County in September.

The three are accused of hiding a gun, a car, and other physical evidence.

Three other people, including Hightower's ex-boyfriend, have been charged with aggravated murder for killing Hightower.
