Timbers, Thorns Announce Details For Stand Together Week
The 11th annual charity event will be from July 11-17 and feature 28 volunteer projects benefitting Portland-area nonprofits.

PORTLAND, OR —The Portland Timbers and Portland Thorns FC have announced details of next month's Stand Together Week, which will benefit dozens of local nonprofit projects.
The 11th annual event will last from July 11-7. During that time, 28 volunteer projects benefitting organizations focused on youth, the environment and social equity will be offered across the Portland metro area, according to organizers.
Once again, the State of Oregon and the City of Portland officially have proclaimed that week as "Portland Timbers & Thorns FC Stand Together Week," and players from the Timbers, Timbers2 and Thorns FC along with staff members are expected to team up with fans on some of the projects. Timber Joey, the Timbers' mascot, is scheduled to participate, as well.

The statement continued: "The mission of Stand Together is to harness the power of sport to improve the lives of children and families in the region through targeted programs, deep partnerships and philanthropic giving."
