Today in Trump: Donald Cancels Plans for August 31 Oregon Fundraiser

Campaign tells OPB that his decision to visit Louisiana has forced changes n the schedule.

It looks like the Donald won't be coming to Portland in two weeks after all. While his campaign had said they would be coming for a rally and fundraiser, they have backed out.

“The campaign has decided to cancel the Aug. 31 fundraiser and rally in Portland as Mr. Trump has had to make changes to his calendar in the wake of the Louisiana flood disaster," Trump's Oregon Campaign Director Jacob Daniels told OPB.

The news outlet reports that the plans are still on for a fundraiser in Seattle a few days before.

That event has attracted some controversy as some local businessmen listed on the invitation have disassociated themselves with the campaign.

While Trump won primaries in both Oregon and Washington, the Republican campaign was essentially over at that point so it's not clear how much real support he has in either state.

No Republican has won either state since Ronald Reagan in 1984.
