Touchstone Preschools Near Portland Hold Fundraiser for St. Jude

Students and their families held a shoe drive to raise money for childhood cancer and disease research

Students at Touchstone Preschools in Tigard and Hillsboro recently held a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to support the hospital’s research to treat and find cures for childhood cancer and other diseases. To raise the money for St. Jude, students and their families participated in a shoe drive and donated sneakers to the organization GotSneakers, which seeks to prevent waste by recycling sneakers and paying shoe donors for their donations. Through this initiative, students learned the value of giving back and supporting others in need.

St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital seeks to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric cancer and other diseases through research and treatment. GotSneakers is a social enterprise committed to environmental sustainability and economic development through recycling and redistributing new and used footwear.
