Traffic Delays Expected for Next Two Weeks on OR 43
Work on the ramps leading to I-5 Southbound, Lake Oswego, downtown Portland and the Ross Island Bridge will test drivers.
It's going to be a tough two weeks for all drivers who use the ramps leading from OR 43 to the Ross Island Bridge, I-5 Southbound, downtown Portland, and Lake Oswego.
Crews from the Oregon Department of Transportation need to work on those ramps where rebar has been exposed. They will repair the rebar as well as pave and make upgrades to those ramps.
The work is expected to last until August 31st.

The closure will affect travel on these routes:
- OR 43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue) ramp to Southwest Kelly and Southwest Hood Avenues.
- Northbound Interstate 5 off-ramp (exit 299A) leading to OR43 (Southwest Macadam Avenue), southbound I-5, Lake Oswego, downtown Portland and the Ross Island Bridge.
- Westbound Ross Island Bridge ramp to SW Hood Avenue which leads to southbound I-5 and Lake Osweg
The OR43 (SW Macadam Avenue) ramp connecting to Southwest Kelly Avenue and Southwest Hood Avenues will be closed day and night (all hours, seven days a week) from Aug. 14 - 31, 2016, to replace the deck and allow time for concrete to cure. I-5 Northbound exit 299A leading to southbound I-5, Lake Oswego, Ross Island Bridge and downtown Portland will also be closed.

Additional nighttime closures may take place before and after the full closure (Aug. 9 - Aug. 13 and Sept. 1 - Sept. 3, 2016) as crews prepare the work site and perform other needed maintenance in the area.
Please note: The schedule is subject to change due to weather and site conditions.
Other Detour Routes include:
From Westbound Ross Island Bridge to OR43 South
From SW Kelly Avenue, continue westbound to SW Arthur St. Turn right on SW 1st Avenue and then turn right on SW Sheridan St. Turn right to SW Naito Pkwy and take the exit to OR43 Lake Oswego. Use the right lane to exit-off to SW Kelly Ave. Continue southbound on SW Kelly Ave and turn left on SW Curry St. Turn right at SW Hood Ave to OR43 South. (Follow the existing “OR43/Macadam Avenue - Lake Oswego” green guide signs on SW Naito Pkwy and SW Kelly St.)
From SW Macadam Avenue north of SW Curry St to I-5 South
From SW Macadam Avenue, enter the on-ramp to I-5 North and take Exit 300. Then take the OMSI/Central Eastside exit. Turn right on SE Water Ave and then left on SE Taylor St. Turn left on SE Grand Ave. Turn left on SE Morrison St to cross the Morrison Bridge. Exit to Naito Parkway southbound and turn left at SW Market St to I-5 South.
Note: There is an existing sign for traffic to access I-5 South at the west end of the Morrison Bridge.
