Traffic Stop Leads to Seizure of Two Handguns

Deshaun Marcell was booked on weapons charges.

A traffic stop led to the arrest of a 22-year-old on weapons charges and the seizure of two handguns, according to Portland Police.

It happened just before 8:30 Tuesday night at a traffic stop at Northeast 52nd Avenue and Alberta Street, say police.

Officers with the Gang Enforcement Team saw a car being driven without headlights on a dark street.

The officers, who were familiar with the driver - 22-year-old Deshaun Marcell -and his passenger, asked if they could conduct a search.

During the search, they found a gun in each of Marcell's front pants pockets.

He was booked into Multnomah County Jail on weapons charges.
