Tree Arrives in Portland's Living Room

The 75-foot Douglas Fir was donated by Stinson Lumber.

Thanksgiving is still weeks away but the holiday season is in fill swing at Pioneer Courthouse Square, affectionately known as Portland's Living Room. On Thursday, a 75-foot Douglas Fir arrived to be the centerpiece of the holiday season.

The tree was donated by the Stinson Lumber Company for the 15th time and had spent its life growing tall on land near Gaston.

Workers will spend the next two weeks reattaching the limbs to the tree and then hanging more than 14,000 lights over the tree.

As it arrived at the Square, it was accompanied by a parade, carolers, hot chocolate, and more.

As always, the tree will be lit the day after Thanksgiving - Friday November 25th, at a ceremony that will get underway at 5:30 p.m.
