Two Pedestrians Struck in Crashes At Same Location, Hours Apart
One is in critical condition and the other suffered minor injuries.

Two crashes blocks apart on Southeast 82nd in Portland have sent pedestrians to the hospital - one in critical condition.
The first happened Saturday morning just after 10:00 a.m..
A pickup truck driven by 63-year-old Elvin Priest was heading southbound on Southeast 82nd when he pulled into the center refuge lane to make the left on to Franklin.

Police say that he made the turn slowly and as he completed it, 76-year-old Ailen Chen stepped out into the street to cross Franklin.

She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Priest stayed on scene and cooperated.
He showed no signs of impairment, according to Portland Police who added that distracted driving did not appear to be a factor.
Meanwhile, around Noon, as police were investigating the first incident, a second woman was struck by another car.
The woman suffered minor injuries.
