U.S. Bank Robbed In Southeast Portland Tuesday Morning

The bank robber reportedly implied he had a bomb before taking an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported. Police seek tips.

PORTLAND, OR — You know who's really unfazed by huge wildfires, barely breathable air, and scary evacuation notices? Bank robbers, if Tuesday morning's U.S. Bank robbery in Southeast Portland's Sunnyside neighborhood is any indication.

Officers arrived to the U.S. Bank at 1225 S.E. Cesar E. Chavez Blvd. shortly before 10:45 a.m. Sept. 5 following the reported robbery, police said.

Bank employees reportedly told officers the male suspect "implied he had a bomb" when he demanded money; the suspect reportedly left without incident after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

The white male suspect is believed to be between 30 and 50 years old and between 5-foot-4 and 5-foot-7 with a medium build.
