Vandalism at Roosevelt High School Causes $300,000 in Damage

Students from rival high school caught on tape.

Vandals from a rival high school caused hundreds of thousands of damage to Roosevelt High School. The attack happened on October 15th during a basketball tournament at the school.

The vandalism started in a third floor science room where an emergency eye wash shower was turned on. The water then leaked to the second and third floor. The school's basketball coach discovered the damage the next morning.

Six classrooms and three offices were affected as well as several bathrooms. Ceilings, walls, floors, computers, elevator, and personal property from teachers & students was damaged. Teachers and students have been moved to temporary classrooms including inside the school gym.

The damage - to a newly opened wing of the school - is estimated at $300,000.

According to Principal Filip Hristic, students from another school were caught on camera.
