Veggie Cookbook Sales Will Benefit Meals On Wheels People

Sales of Seattle author Brandon Dombrowsky's digital edition of "Veggiessentials 101" will help Natural Harvest and Meals on Wheels People.

PORTLAND, OR - From Meals On Wheels People: On the third anniversary of the hardback release of his first cookbook, Veggiessentials 101, Seattle author Brandon Dombrowsky will release an expanded digital edition as a fundraising benefit for Northwest Harvest and Meals on Wheels People. Dombrowsky and his team hope to raise $5,000 for each organization, or $10,000 dollars in total net proceeds.

Dombrowsky’s primary goal is twofold. First, he hopes to promote a deeper understanding in the Seattle and Portland areas of what food insecurity is, and why even in a strong economy there is an uptick in food-need services. Secondarily, and to achieve this end, Dombrowsky built a team of volunteer professionals to complete the digital edition as a means of inspiring others to give, too.

The people making Dombrowsky’s gift possible include all the major players that worked with him on the hard-back print edition. Each of these individuals have joined this new effort and are donating their time and expertise. Each of them a snowflake—with their own stories, voices, and reasons to give from their hearts—that Dombrowsky has shaped into the snowball he prepared to send down a blizzard-covered mountainside.

In initiating the campaign and offering donors a gift for their contribution, Dombrowsky and the team he’s assembled hope to build the kind of momentum—a community joined together as a coalition of givers—that would intimidate an avalanche.
