  1. The Greater Idaho movement is not accepted by many Oregonians, a recent poll reveals. The Oregon Values and Beliefs Center asked 1400 Oregon residents about the proposition that eastern, rural counties secede the state and merge with Idaho. Only 34% agreed that this would be a good idea.(Pamplin Media Group)
  2. The Total Recall PDX movement is in full swing, but Oregonians seem to be divided in their support. The push to remove Ted Wheeler from his office as mayor has substantial support, but a large percentage of voters see the complaints against him as questionable. (KOIN)
  3. A Portland businessman is printing his own money and it is literally made out of gold. Adam Trexler has has his own mint, making currency at a secret location in Oregon, printing gold notes on resilient polymer sheets. (OPB)
  4. Anna Scharf has been voted in to replace Rep. Mike Nearman. Nearman was expelled from the Oregon House of Representatives for letting right-wing protesters into a closed Capitol building last December. Schaarf had worked as a policy analyst for Nearman. When he was expelled, Scharf stayed at the Capitol to, as she put it, make sure that House District 23 still had a voice during the final weeks of the session. (The Statesman Journal)
  5. Who watches the watchmen? Portland Police Detective Erik Kammerer, one of 16 detectives who investigate police use of deadly force, is now under investigation for his own alleged use of force. In an unusual move, the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office has referred Kammerer's case to the Oregon Department of Justice due to a potential conflict of interest. (Willamette Week)
