Woman Arrested After Robbing Bookstore

Armed with a handgun, she stole cash. No books

Let's just say she was booked.

Portland Police have arrested 44-year-old Hilary Leah Bishop, charging her with robbery after she robbed a bookstore in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood Monday evening.

Police say she went into Wallace Books on Southeast Milwaukie Avenue, armed with a gun. She made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Witnesses saw her get into a vehicle and provided a description to police who stopped the vehicle a short time later.

She was taken into custody without incident.
