Woman Who Killed Intruder Cleared of Wrongdoing
Tara-Alexis Ford had found David McCrary in her daughter's bedroom.

Tara-Alexis Ford walked into her home last month and discovered a stranger in the bedroom of her ten-year-old daughter.
She pulled a gun and fired one shot.
Dead on the floor was David Daniel McCrary, a 59-year-old from Gresham. Police say he had broken into her home near Southeast 122nd Avenue and Holgate Boulevard.

Now a grand jury has ruled that Ford was justified when she fired the shot.

McCrary's shooting was one of three similar incidents in Portland in roughly three weeks.
Four days before the incident, a homeowner shot and wounded former NFL star Stanley Wilson as Wilson allegedly tried to break into his home. Wilson survived. A grand jury ruled the homeowner was justified.
Then, on July 14th, a homeowner shot and killed someone during a home invasion. That case is still under investigation.
