• Parents push back on Fern Ridge elementary school reconfiguration (kezi.com) — A major change is coming for Veneta families: starting fall 2027, Veneta Elementary will serve only K–2 students while Elmira Elementary will handle grades 3–5, after a close 3–2 Fern Ridge School Board vote. Many parents worry about longer commutes, split siblings, and divided PTA efforts, and more than 450 people have signed a petition, but district leaders say they are not reconsidering the decision.
