Dramatic Rescue in Wilsonville as Crews Bring Couple to Safety
They had tried to rescue a dog. No reports of injuries.
Dramatic moments Saturday afternoon in Wilsonville's memorial Park.
It started just before 1:00.
An 87-year-old man and his female companion were walking their dog down a trail when it lost its footing and rolled down a steep embankment, ending up by the river.

The couple went after the dog but then found themselves trapped as well, unable to make it back up the 20-foot climb back to the trail.

Firefighters from Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue arrived and made it down to the river, repelling down.
They were able to get the couple back to the trail.
Neither was injured.
The dog made it back up on its own.
