Parks and Recreation Master Plan Open House, Focus Groups Next Week, Wilsonville Officials say

With input from the community, the master plan will help inform the city council's future programs and policies as they relate to city parks

WILSONVILLE, OR – The City of Wilsonville is developing an updated Parks and Recreation Master Plan and it wants the community’s input.

To give the city an idea of what residents would like to see in their parks facilities and outdoor programs, officials have invited the public to an open house on Thursday, April 20, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall, 29799 S.W. Town Center Loop East.

“We recognize that providing high-quality parks and recreational opportunities is extremely important to the overall quality of life within Wilsonville,” Parks and Recreation Director Mike McCarty said in a statement. “We want as many people as possible to participate in this planning process to ensure the plan is supported by the public and is consistent with the community’s high expectations.”

Following the 12-month planning process, which will compare current Wilsonville parks and related programs to what residents have said they’d like to see in the future through open houses, the Parks and Recreation Master Plan will provide the Wilsonville City Council with recommendations for changes or improvements in early 2018.
