Wilsonville Gets Mixed News on City Budget

There are financial challenges on the horizon for Wilsonville, the city's budget committee has been told.

The news, in a meeting last week, focused on the fact that the several of the city's funds - including the General Fund and the Transportation Fund, may face shortfalls forcing them to rely on reserves to keep up with service demands.

The city says that they are aware of the potential problems and working on solutions to guarantee long-term financial sustainability.

A city release says that despite the challenges that might lay ahead, Wilsonville's "operating funds are in a strong position and are maintaining healthy financial reserves."

The assessment can be found in the city's Five-Year Forecast, which can be found here.

The forecast is a precursor to the presentation by the City Manager of his budge proposal for the next fiscal year.

That will happen on May 18 at City Hall.
