Wilsonville Hires Economic Development Manager

A graduate of Tulane, Jordan Vance had been working for American Express OPEN in New York City.

The City of Wilsonville has a new economic development manager.

Jordan Vance arrives from New York City where he had been working for American Express Open.

There he was responsible for managing their Shop Small and Small Business Saturday campaigns that support and promote the growth of small businesses across the United States.

“We are excited to have Jordan join our staff to lead the City’s economic development and urban renewal programs," said City Manager Bryan Cosgrove.

"Jordan brings a wealth of private-sector and nonprofit professional experience working for a wide variety of small, medium and large businesses across many different sectors."

Before American Express Open, Vance - a graduate of Tulane - served as the Marketing and Events Manager for Accion U.S. Network – a New York City based nonprofit micro- and small-business lending network that provides business financing and education to small business owners throughout the United States.

He also has experience in emerging technologies and mobile payments, and taught English as a Second Language in Seoul, South Korea.

“I look forward to meeting with local employers and area business associations to learn about their issues and how the city can work to improve our economic climate in a sustainable fashion," Vance said.
