Wilsonville Mayor Outlines Vision of Growing City
Mayor Tim Knapp says "there is a lot to talk about Wilsonville."

"What is Wilsonville, and what does Wilsonville mean to you? Is it a place? An idea? A feeling? A set of buildings and roads at one lace out there in the valley? May be it’s a community of people that share a common vision."
That was Mayor Tim Knapp outlining the ways to look at Wilsonville as he delivered his state of the city speech this week.
He started by talking about the economic commitment being made to the city by developers and people moving in.

"Over the last two years Wilsonville issued 426 permits for new homes, for a total of $95 million in valuation.," he said, "Then in January of this year, just one more month, they issues 40 additional permits for another $10 million."
He said that's 466 homes and $105 million being invested in the community.

"That is pretty significant for the size that we are," he said.
Knapp said much of the activity has been taking place in the Villebois community.
It's not just residential building that's happening.
"In commercial and industrial we issued 254 permits over the past 12 months valued at $17.9, almost $18 million invested in our community," he said.
Those permits included new car dealerships and Microsoft. The software company purchased Wilsonville-based Perceptive Pixel and remodeled one of their facilities.
He talked about the success of the school district, their plans to build a second middle school for the city as well as. eventually, another elementary school.
He kept his remarks looking forward.
"As we look to the future, we have anticipation, we have confidence, we have interest, we are going to be connected, we are going to collaborate and in a measured way, all of us in Wilsonville will find our way forward towards a positive future," he said.
