Wilsonville a Walk-Friendly Community

Designation comes from the national Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center.

Wilsonville is a "Walk Friendly Community."

That's according to the national Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center based at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

The designation honors the city's ongoing efforts to improve a wide range of conditions related to walking, including safety, mobility, access, and comfort.

"We are proud of being named a 'Walk Friendly Community,'" said Mayor Tim Knapp. "All of us know that walking is good for our environment, for our personal health and quality of life.

"This award also recognizes our community's firm commitment to connectivity, and to encouraging multi-modal transportation that gives mobility options to residents, commuting workers and visitors."
