📰 News we're reading

• Little-used, little-known and aging Waldport Cemetery needs help from new volunteers or the city • Lincoln Chronicle (lincolnchronicle.org) — Yachats Memorial Park is highlighted as a recent success story, where community outreach rebuilt a struggling cemetery board and attracted new volunteers. Waldport's only in-town cemetery now faces similar leadership and volunteer shortages, and city officials may look to Yachats' approach—possibly even consulting its cemetery group—as they decide whether volunteers or the city should take over long-term care.

• 15 Most Underrated Towns To Visit in the Pacific Northwest (financebuzz.com) — Yachats is spotlighted as one of the Pacific Northwest's most underrated towns, praised for its dramatic coastline, hiking trails, and lively village full of shops and restaurants. The guide encourages planning an off-season visit to Yachats for fewer crowds, coastal views, and easy access to nearby outdoor adventures across the Oregon coast.
