2 New Administrators Join Jenkintown School District

JENKINTOWN BOROUGH, PA —Two new administrators have joined the Jenkintown School District for the new school year.

School Board President Megan O'Brien has announced two new additions to the school district's administrative team: Steve Van Mater, Director of Human Resources and Curriculum, and Athletic Director Matthew Shade.

"Steve and Matt have already hit the ground running, and we're looking forward to what they bring to the team this academic year," O'Brien said.

"Another summer has just flown by, and the Board and Administrative Team are excited to welcome our students back to school," O'Brien said. "We hope all of our students and their families are looking forward to the 2024-25 school year."

School starts next Tuesday.

In other school district business:

At the combined school board work session and business meeting on Aug. 19, the board reviewed, discussed, and approved the following:

  • Approval of a 3-year contract with ATI to provide athletic training services.
  • Approval of a mechanical equipment service agreement with H.T. Lyons.
  • Approval of a proposal from PA-ETEP for staff evaluation and software tools.
