2 New Police Officers Take Oath In Abington Twp.

One was a competitive wrestler while the other Abington officer served in the U.S. Army, officials said.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA —The Abington Township Police Department has added two new members to its ranks.

Police Officers Paul Steinmetz and Justin Thomas were sworn in Monday to join the police department.

Steinmetz, an alumnus of Council Rock High School South, attended Penn State University and New York University where he competed as a competitive collegiate wrestler.

Thomas graduated from Waynesville High School in Waynesville, Missouri.

He has recently completed his training at the Montgomery County Community College Police Academy, equipping him with vital skills for his role in our department.

In addition to his academic achievements, Thomas honorably served in the U.S. Army as a Petroleum Supply Specialist.

"We congratulate Officers Steinmetz and Thomas on embarking on this exciting new chapter in their careers," officials said. "Please join us in wishing them both a journey filled with safety, success, and fulfillment as they contribute to the betterment of our community through their work with the Abington Township Police Department."
