$30K Raised In Support Of Abington Police Officer Fighting ALS

Hundreds of people in the Abington community have banded together to support Officer Bryan Rickards in his battle with ALS.

ABINGTON, PA -- When Abington Police Officer Bryan Rickards was diagnosed with ALS, he knew it would be a long fight.

But as the 19-year veteran of the force soon found out, it was a fight he wouldn't have to undertake alone.

The Abington community has rallied behind their officer in a huge way. In the five months since a GoFundMe Fundraiser was launched online, a grand total of $30,011 has been raised. The funds are going towards helping Rickards and his family with growing medical costs.
