50 Nursing Students Fighting Food Insecurity In Eastern Montco
The Jenkintown Food Cupboard each month is feeding nursing students at Thomas Jefferson University's Horsham campus.

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA —Every month, the Jenkintown Food Cupboard helps 50 people facing food insecurity.
But these aren't homeless people or families down on their luck from an economic downturn.
The 50 people are nursing students.

The Jenkintown Food Cupboard said that the nursing students come from the Thomas Jefferson University's Dixon Nursing Program in Horsham Township.
In April, Jenkintown Food Cupboard gave out 1,000 lbs. of food and is working to convert the monthly donation into a permanent emergency pantry with a perishable supplement every other week.

"It is thanks to the community's support that we can provide nutritional support to so many," the cupboard said in a Facebook post.
The Dixon Campus at 300 Lakeside Dr. allows students the opportunity to enroll in the Traditional BSN or our Full-Time Accelerated Coursework Track (FACT 1 & 2 Year) BSN programs.

The Wyncote Academy Community is kicking off its spring growing season with an eight-week long CSA program. Each week, the academy will include seasonal vegetables such as greens, cabbage, kale, kohlrabi, as well as a dozen eggs and half a pound of honey.
