$6.1M In Grants Coming To Eastern Montco Towns

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — Several eastern Montgomery County communities have received state grants for municipal upgrades and improvements.

The funding secured by State Sen. Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery, Caucus Chair) totals $6.1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grant awards for 20 infrastructure projects serving the 12^th Senatorial District in Montgomery County.

Some of the towns getting the grants are Horsham, Hatboro, Willow Grove, and Ambler.

“I was excited to secure over $6 million in state funding for projects that reflect our communities’ real needs and priorities: making sure our parks are accessible, our utilities run efficiently and local police have the tools they need to protect our neighbors," Collett said.

In Ambler and Horsham, Collett secured $1.948 million in grants with the help of State Rep. Melissa Cerrato.

They include the following grants:

• Ambler Borough – $167,188 for the purchase and upfitting of two police vehicles.
• Horsham Township – $65,000 to upgrade their mobile data terminal (MDT) equipment for their police department vehicles.
• Horsham Township – $75,000 to install lights at the pickleball courts located at the Horsham Township Municipal Complex.
• Horsham Water & Sewer Authority – $51,415 for the purchase of a service truck.
• Horsham Water & Sewer Authority – $600,000 for a water main replacement on Summer and Cottage Avenues.
• Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $990,000 for the Mitzvah Circle Campus Safety Assessment Implementation Project.

“I am excited to see these significant investments come back to our community," Cerrato said. "Whether it be support for our local law enforcement or resources to keep our water clean and healthy, we will all see improvements for Montgomery County."

In Hatboro, State Rep. Nancy Guenst helped secure grants with Collett.

They include the following grants:

• Hatboro Borough – $229,955 to purchase and install a water slide at Hatboro Memorial Pool.
• Hatboro Borough – $333,932 to purchase a street sweeper to be used on the 22.5 miles of roadway within the borough.
• Hatboro Borough – $379,990 to purchase two modular vehicle barrier systems with trailers.
• Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $28,959 for the Settlement Music School Willow Grove Community Space & Learning Expansion.
