
ABINGTON, PA — The defending NCAA champion Villanova Wildcats added a local star to their 2018-19 roster this week.
Abington Senior High School basketball standout Eric Dixon officially announced that he'd be taking his talents to Lancaster Avenue come next fall.
Dixon, a 6'6, 260 pound forward, is among the nation's premier crop of recruits. Rivals has him ranked as the 70th recruit in the nation, and the number 2 recruit in all of Pennsylvania.

Dixon, who also received interest from schools like Georgetown and Virginia, among others, is the first Villanova basketball student-athlete to commit to the 2019 class.
Dixon made his announcement during a special ceremony at the high school.

"Growing up in the Abington community has been everything I can ask for," Dixon said in a video posted to his Twitter page this week. "The support I've been given by those around me has been unreal."
Villanova, renown for developing players, has won two of the last three NCAA National Championships, with memorable victories in 2016 and 2018.
