Abington Citizens Police Academy Starts March 6

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Abington Township are getting ready to host their citizens police academy, and interested residents are invited to register for the eight-week academy.
The academy runs Wednesdays from March 6 to April 25.
Classes will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesdays at the Public Safety Training Facility, 2200 Florey Lane in Abington.

Attendees will learn everything they've wanted to know about being a police officer.
The academy is designed to teach citizens about the training, policies, and guiding principles of law enforcement and ethics that shape Abington Police Department.

Topics include SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), accident investigations, police K-9, use of force, crime scene investigation processing, and more.
All classes are taught by Abington officers and members of other agencies
Residents of Abington and surrounding communities are eligible to attend.
