Abington Community Rallies To Support Cop With ALS

Officer Bryan Rickards has served the citizens of Abington Township for 19 years. Now, the community is giving back.

ABINGTON, PA -- When Abington Police Officer Bryan Rickards was diagnosed with ALS, he knew it would be a long fight.

But as the 19-year veteran of the force soon found out, it was a fight he wouldn't have to undertake alone.

The Abington community has rallied behind their officer, raising $4,280 from 60 different donations in just two days.

A Beef and Beer Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 8 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the North Penn VFW, which is located on 2519 Jenkintown Road in Glenside.

The price is $30 per ticket.

Live music featuring the Bare Knuckle Boxers, cold beer, great food, a raffle, and much more highlight the evening.
