Abington Library Scarecrow Competition Winners Announced

Scarecrows of favorite book characters bring reading alive at Abington Library

The annual Scarecrow Competition at the Abington Library encourages young readers and their families to create scarecrows of characters from their favorite books and compete for prizes. Scarecrows are displayed in the library. Library users vote for the ones they like best.

This year's winners are: Tristan and Brandon Bacardi (1st place) for Peril the Skywing; the Braveboy-Sargeant Family (2nd place) for If You Give a Mouse a Cookie; and the Arabchuk Family (3rd place) for Ursula. All other participants received a gift certificate for the BookCellar, the library's used bookstore.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of Abington Township Public Library.
