Abington Man Arrested After Teen Girl Shot: Police

ABINGTON, PA — An Abington man has been arrested after shooting a teenage girl in the hand earlier in the month, police said.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, March 12 at around 11:06 p.m. on the 2800 block of Susquehanna Road.

An investigation determined that a drug transaction was happening at the residence during the shooting. Police were called to the scene, where the victim was found with an adult woman, and the unknown shooter had left.

The teen girl was taken to Abington Hospital for treatment.

An investigation revealed the suspect as 20-year-old Adam Soumahoro. On Monday, March 24, police arrived at his home on the 2700 block of Jenkintown Road in Abington. They reached him by phone and he came out and surrendered without incident.

Soumahoro was charged with robbery, aggravated assault, firearms charges, and reckless endangerment. A preliminary hearing is forthcoming.
