Abington Police Investigate Rydal Burglary-Related Incidents
Police are investigating two recent burglary-related incidents in Rydal, urging residents to remain vigilant.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington Township Police Department is investigating recent burglary-related incidents in the township's Rydal section that occurred on consecutive days in mid-January.
Abington Police responded at 8 p.m. on Jan. 17 to an attempted residential burglary that took place in the 900 block of Meetinghouse Road. The suspect or suspects tried to enter the home through a basement window and the rear door, but they were unsuccessful.
The next day, at 7:10 p.m., police responded to another house burglary in the 700 block of Washington Lane. Police said the suspect or suspects gained entry through a basement window before exiting through a rear door, taking several items of value from the home.

Police believe that both crimes were committed by the same suspect or suspects due to the close proximity of the locations and the similar methods of entry.
Police said that burglars normally target the master bedroom, suggesting residents hide valuables in other areas of the home. Homeowners should also be alert for suspicious persons and vehicles in their neighborhoods.
