Abington Police Take The Plunge
Abington Police members joined the cause at the 2026 Philadelphia Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics.

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — They took the plunge.
On Friday, members of the Abington Township Police Department joined the cause at the 2026 Philadelphia Law Enforcement Polar Plunge for Special Olympics of Pennsylvania.
Among the participants were Police Chief Pat Molloy, Deputy Chief Chris Porter, Lt. Joe Blei, Lt. Drew Kent, and Retired Police Officer Jim Dwyer, all of whom took the chilly plunge into the icy waters at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Despite the rain and cold, the APD team jumped in to show their support and enthusiasm, the police department said in a Facebook post.
"They jumped, splashed, and shared some laughs with other law enforcement teams, all while raising nearly $2,000 to benefit Special Olympics," the police department said. "It’s not too late to make a difference."
