Abington Police Win Community Policing Photo Contest

ABINGTON, PA -- Thanks to a timely photo capture of a moment last Halloween, the Abington Township Police Department has won the national Community Policing In Action Photo Contest.

The winning photo, shown above, features Abington Officer Roger Gillispie with a young boy, Rory Dougherty, dressed as batman during the Fall Festival.

The photo is entitled "Abington Police Department: Where Superheroes Meet."

The Fall Festival has been held in Abington for 20 years and is a collaboration between the township's business community and Citizens and Police Together, the local community policing organization.

The contest invited entries from around the nation.
