Abington Ranked Among Best School Districts In Pennsylvania
Niche, the leading platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools, has just published its 2025 Best Schools rankings.
ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — The Abington School District has been ranked the 11th-best school district in Montgomery County and the 53rd-best in Pennsylvania in Niche’s 2025 Best Schools and Districts rankings released recently.
Niche gave the school district an overall letter grade of A. Grades in specific categories were:
- Academics - A-
- Diversity - A-
- Teachers - A
- College Prep - A
- Clubs & Activities - A-
- Administration- A-
Abington also ranked 54th for best places to teach in Pennsylvania and 57th for the most diverse school districts in Pennsylvania. The rankings in Montgomery County for those categories are the 9th best places to teach and the 7th most diverse district.

In the Philadelphia region, Abington ranks as the 29th-best school district, 23rd place to teach, and 41st most diverse district.
Abington also received a B+ for food, an A- for sports, and a C+ for resources and facilities.

The Abington School District is a highly rated, public school district that has 8,543 students in grades K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1. According to state test scores, 45 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 65 percent in reading.

The rankings differ from others that rely almost exclusively on test scores and academic performance in that it also include input from students, alumni, and parents, as well as quantitative data from sources such as the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate teachers, resources, and facilities.
