ABINGTON, PA — Forbes included Abington School District on its recent list recognizing the best employers around the country and in Pennsylvania.

The district was placed at 58th overall on the Pennsylvania list, among the 100 employers in the Keystone State which were singled out by the magazine for the honor.

"This ranking is meaningful because a positive organizational culture and climate translates to positive experiences for our students," Abington Superintendent Jeffrey Fecher said in a statement. "I am grateful to our more than 1,100 employees for making Abington School District a great place to work and learn, and for their ongoing dedication to our students."

Forbes said it worked with Statista to come up with the rankings. An anonymous survey consisting of 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees was used to come up with the rankings.

Abington was the only school district to be named to the list in Pennsylvania, and one of just two employers in Montgomery County. The other was UGI in King of Prussia.
