Abington Students Produce 'Enough' Video Against Gun Violence
The student produced video was aired across the Abington School District at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

ABINGTON, PA — Students in the Abington School District produced a moving video honoring lives lost and demanding an end to gun violence in schools.
The video montage includes media coverage of various incidents of school violence before featuring numerous Abington students identifying themselves by saying "I am" followed by a unique identifier. They end by saying, in unison, "We are students. I am a student. And together, we can create change."
The video urges students to "speak up, stand out, and get involved" to advocate for safer schools.

The district said students are using the video, and the March 14 walkout date, to kickoff a civic engagement campaign.
"We respect and appreciate the sentiment and symbolism of a walkout, but we believe that it is in the best interest of the student body to formulate a more productive showing," Abington Student Council President Josh Harkins said during a speech given to the Board of School Directors last month. "We believe we have a plan set in motion that will inspire a resurgence of community activism in students."

The district said that if any students did walk out of school on Wednesday, they would be supervised by staff and directed toward designated "safe" areas. Administration did not give any indication that students would be disciplined for participating in the walkout.
Traffic was closed to the school's main campus from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
