Abington's Old Welsh Road To Be Shut Down Through December

Weekday road closures of Old Welsh Road in Abington will be in effect through December, PennDOT has announced.

Abington, PA -- Old Welsh Road will be shut down for several days during an upcoming water installation, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced.

Old Welsh will be shut down between Fitzwatertown Road and Lukens Avenue, starting on Wednesday, July 20, officials said.

The closure will be in effect on all weekdays through December, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, PennDOT said.

The road will be open on weekends.

Traffic will be detoured to Fitzwatertown Road, Route 63 (Welsh Road/Moreland Road) and Route 611 (Old York Road), according to PennDOT.
