Abington's Old York Road Symphony Names New Conductor

ABINGTON, PA -- The Old York Road Symphony is getting some new leadership.

The Abington-based orchestra has appointed Jack Moore as Principal Conductor, they announced.

Moore will begin his work with the Season Opener on October 29 at 8 p.m. at Abington Junior High School, which is located on 2056 Susquehanna Road in Abington.

Moore has been the principal conductor for Ambler Symphony since 1996, the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia since 1998, and the Olney Symphony since 2002.

Moore is well known to Philadelphia area audiences as the "Voice" of classical radio on WRTI-FM since 1997. He has been Program Director of the station since 2002.
