• Abington Senior High School honors longtime music teacher upon his retirement (glensidelocal.com) — Abington Senior High School is celebrating beloved music teacher Joseph Detato as he retires after 26 years of shaping the school’s bands and interdisciplinary studies program. Students from the Marching Ghosts, jazz, and concert bands shared heartfelt thanks for his mentorship and inspiration, highlighting how his teaching in Abington has prepared them for life beyond graduation.    

• Lifecycle, a non-profit birth and wellness center which was expected to open a new location in Abington Township, permanently closes (glensidelocal.com) — A long-planned birth and wellness center will no longer be coming to Abington Township after Lifecycle Wellness and Birth Center permanently closed its Bryn Mawr facility in March. The nonprofit had raised millions and filed plans to relocate to Old York Road, but mounting financial, insurance, and regulatory pressures forced it to shut down after 47 years and more than 16,000 births.    

• Arcadia University Shoulder Research Center seeking participants with shoulder pain for paid research study (glensidelocal.com) — If you live in or near Abington and have shoulder pain, Arcadia University’s Shoulder Research Center in Glenside is offering a paid research study with safe, non-invasive testing. Adults 18–65 can earn up to $75 for one or two brief sessions measuring shoulder strength and brain activity before and after a pain-relieving injection.
