$100M In Upgrades Underway On Penn State Abington Campus

ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — As the Penn State Abington campus prepares for another college year, $100 million in major construction and renovations are underway on campus.

Penn State Chancellor Gary Liguori said that those projects include the renovation of the biology and cybersecurity labs in 2025, the ongoing construction of an academic building, and the renovation of our physical education building.

The investment is “seen as a potential opportunity to help start to reimagine what our campus could be,” Liguori said.

This past year, Penn State Abington celebrated its 75th anniversary.

While other Penn State University campuses have closed, the Old York Road campus has evolved over the years through name and campus changes.

Penn State Abington was founded in 1950 as the Penn State Ogontz Center.
