Montco Man Wearing Bulletproof Vest In Supermarket Charged With Impersonating FBI Agent

EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — A 54-year-old Jenkintown man is under indictment for impersonating an FBI agent during a security check at a Philadelphia supermarket.

Seok Joon Lee, 54, of Jenkintown, was charged by indictment with impersonating a federal officer, and acting as that official, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.

Lee allegedly pretended to be an FBI agent who entered a Philadelphia supermarket wearing a bulletproof vest, a law enforcement-type duty belt, a holstered firearm loaded with 13 rounds of live ammunition, and two spare magazines, authorities said.

Lee identified himself as an FBI agent to a security guard and attempted to conduct a security check of the supermarket, authorities said.

He told Philadelphia Police officers that he was "undercover FBI" and that his credentials and FBI number could be located elsewhere, authorities said.

If convicted, Lee faces a fine and three years in prison.
