ROCKLEDGE BOROUGH, PA — The Rockledge Borough Police Department has received a grant from the state to reduce underage and dangerous drinking.
Rockledge Borough Police said the funding is through the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's Reducing Underage and Dangerous Drinking (RUDD) Grant Program.
Police did not reveal the amount of the funding.
The RUDD Grant provides funding to support efforts aimed at reducing underage drinking, dangerous alcohol consumption, and alcohol-related incidents within our community.
As part of the initiative, Rockledge police officers will participate in specialized training and conduct additional grant-funded enforcement and community outreach activities.
Residents may see an increased police presence during community events and at other times when alcohol-related violations or impaired driving may be a concern.
Grant funding allows the police department to conduct the additional details without taking officers away from their regular patrol responsibilities.
"Our efforts will focus on education, prevention, and enforcement, with the goal of keeping our community and roadways safe," police said.
