CHELTENHAM / JENKINTOWN, PA — The Cheltenham Township and Jenkintown Borough school districts welcomed students back to classes on Monday.
The Abington School District will begin classes after Labor Day on Tuesday.
In The School District of Jenkintown, some seniors began their last first day of high school by gathering to watch the sunrise together, followed by a special breakfast to kick off the year.
Meanwhile, in the Cheltenham Township School District, the police department was on hand to greet students to start the 2026-2027 school year.
The township's new police chief and some police officers visited Cedarbrook, Cedarbrook East, Cheltenham Elementary School, and Wyncote schools.
Police officers handed out stickers, magnets, crayons, pens, and pencils.
