ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, PA — Abington Senior High School was locked down early Monday morning for the report of a weapon at the school, police said.
Abington school officials sent an email to the high school community on Monday morning that a report was made to the administration about a possible weapon on a student.
School officials said they followed all emergency procedures and locked down the high school while the Abington Township Police Department investigated.
Police determined that the weapon was a Nerf toy gun, and not a real firearm.
Police said there was no threat to students or the community.
School officials then lifted the lockdown and are resuming the school day.
