EASTERN MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA — An Upper Dublin Township synagogue and another in Elkins Park approved their merger last week.
Temple Sinai in Dresher has agreed to merge with members of the Congregation Adath Jeshurun of Elkins Park.
The two synagogues voted on their merger on Oct. 25.
The merger is expected to take effect following a review by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General and approval of the Orphans' Court of Montgomery County.
The unification of the two synagogues, both members of the Conservative movement, will create a congregation of about 500 families, officials said,
The members of Adath Jeshurun will relocate the Temple Sinai location at 1401 North Limekiln Pike.
The combined entity will be known as Adath Jeshurun-Temple Sinai (AJ-TS).
